If you are new to the group and to walking, start with a walk graded “Leisurely” and build up. Most walks will have a “shorter option” of approximately 5 miles where you can arrange collection at a mid point along the route.
The groups average walking speed is 2.0 to 2.5 miles per hour depending on the terrain.
The group will stop to snack and check blood glucose levels every hour. Lunch stop will be approximately for 20 minutes after 2.5 hours.
