Marsworth – Tring – Ridgeway – Grand Union Canal – Marsworth

Start Time: Sunday 8th March 2020 09.45 for 10.00am start.

Start and Finish: Public Car Park at Marsworth Postcode HP23 4LJ. The charge is £3 per day. This is a Circular walk from Marsworth around reservoirs to Tring, then along the Ridgeway to Wigginton and Tring Station and back along the Grand Union Canal. One climb to the Ridgeway. Mostly easy walking with some lovely views.Difficulty: Leisurely – 9 miles with one climb. There may be some mud.

A shorter walk can be completed in Wigginton – Fox Road, north end of Wigginton, grid ref. 935106 (distance 4.5 miles), or Tring Station (5.5 miles) – please contact Walk Leader Janet Ewart for details.

Waypoints: Start – Marsworth – from car park around reservoirs to Little Tring GR 917130 – via Tring and Tring Park to Ridgeway GR 933106. Along Ridgeway via Wigginton to Tring Station GR 949121 – continue along Grand Union Canal to Marsworth and Car Park – Finish.

 

Getting there from Aylesbury – (Approx 6 miles): Take A41 and follow Aston Clinton bypass. Take slip road for B489 – go left past Wilstone Reservoir. Straight on at roundabout and Car Park is on the right.

 Getting There from Oxford : (Approx 29 miles): Take A40 to Wheatley, then A418 to Aylesbury. Then follow directions from Aylesbury..
